MRI Predictor of Heart Attack/Stroke in Diabetics

Diabetes affects 347 million people worldwide according to the World Health Organization. Many of these patients are at risk of developing other medical conditions such as heart attack and stroke.

A new study suggests whole body MRI may be a good way to assess these conditions
in diabetic patients.  Whole-body MRI is considered a non-invasive tool because experts say this technique is not associated with radiation exposure.

Teleradiology Taking Off in Europe

The United States and Canada have seen the advantages of teleradiology for some time. Now Europe is starting to recognize the benefits as well.

A survey published online by Insights into Imaging reveals radiologists in Europe are
starting to embrace teleradiology technology. Of the 386 radiology professionals surveyed, 65% said they use teleradiology to receive images at their homes when on-call.
